JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng coalition government has been criticised for passing an adjustment budget three weeks before the financial year ends.
The legislature voted on Tuesday to give a green light to the budget tabled before November.
The vote has been delayed in order to lobby for support from parties outside the coalition.
The Democratic Alliance (DA)'s Ruhan Robinson said this makes a mockery of legislature processes.
“We have thus decided to vote against this Appropriation Bill, as it makes a mockery of the legislative and constitutional duties that are conferred upon the legislature in Gauteng to deal with the budgeting process. This is completely unacceptable.”
