DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal transport MEC Siboniso Duma has called for the rail freight networks in the province to be revived.
The MEC was reacting to an accident where a truck overturned and lost its load on the N3 on Monday morning.
No injuries were reported.
“The MEC believes that the transition from road to rail of cargo will improve our road networks and ensure the safety of motorists and members of the public,” said Department spokesperson, Ndabezinhle Sibiya.
