JMPD warns of traffic disruption around Orlando Stadium ahead of Pirates, MC Alger CAF clash

JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) is cautioning road users to be aware of traffic disruptions around the Orlando Stadium, in Soweto due to a CAF Champions League match on Wednesday afternoon.
Orlando Pirates will take on MC Alger in their CAF Champions League second-leg quarterfinal fixture.
Kick-off is scheduled for 6pm on Wednesday, but gates will be open at 3 pm.
Several routes will be affected by the match, including the N17, Soweto highway, and Martha Louw Street.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla said road closures have already been implemented.
“The affected routes include Mooki Street between Nkom Ya Hlaba and Masopha Street with soft closures on intersecting roads and on Martha Louw / Armitage Street between Klipspruit Valy Road and Mooki Street. All road closures and diversions will be lifted after the match concludes.”
