JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is warning KwaZulu–Natal (KZN) residents about harsh weather conditions expected in the province from Tuesday.
This comes after an alert level four warning was issued by the service for disruptive rainfall in the province, which has recently been battered by floods.
Severe rainfall is expected on Tuesday over most parts of the province and could lead to fresh flooding.
The Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) Department says disaster management teams are on standby to respond to emergencies.
Spokesperson Senzelwe Mzila said, “Disaster management teams continue to monitor inclement weather conditions across the province and will provide assistance where required. MEC Buthelezi has urged residents across the province to continue to be vigilant and exercise utmost caution.”
