KWAMHLANGA - The case against two men accused of kidnapping journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli, has been postponed to next week.

So far, five arrests have been made in the matter, however, the focus has been on the first accused, Samuel Mogongwe and his co-accused, Lucky Sikhosana, who are believed to be the pair last seen with the couple earlier this year.

The two suspects appeared briefly in the KwaMhlanga Magistrates Court in Mpumalanga on Friday.

The case was postponed after proceedings were temporarily suspended for the medical examination of the alleged mastermind in this matter, Mogongwe, who claims to have been assaulted by police.

All five suspects were meant to appear before the court on Friday; however, only accused 1 and 2 appeared on two counts of kidnapping.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Monica Nyuswa said that the remaining suspects in the matter, who have been charged for suspected stolen property, would appear in court soon.

"The matter was postponed until the 19th of May 2025, and investigations are still ongoing."

As the investigation progresses, the families, friends, and colleagues of the couple are anxiously hoping that the police will uncover the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
