The Eastern Cape is facing a deadly weather crisis.

The province has been struck by heavy floods, snow, and strong winds, triggering widespread damage and displacement.

Nine people have been confirmed dead as a result of the severe weather.

A search is currently underway for a minibus carrying schoolchildren that was swept away by floodwaters.

Three learners were rescued earlier this morning after being found clinging to trees.

Emergency teams are working to rescue stranded residents and restore infrastructure.
