Fire breaks out at SAB’s Baragwanath Depot in Soweto

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Emergency Management Services (EMS) responded to a fire at the South African Breweries’ Baragwanath depot in Soweto.
They managed to contain a fire that erupted at the South African Breweries Baragwanath branch in Soweto on Thursday afternoon.
EMS personnel say the blaze flared up at the outdoor crate storage space of the branch.
The main building on the premises and its materials inside have not been affected.
No injuries have been reported, and the damage is being assessed.
Joburg EMS spokesperson Xolile Khumalo explained: “EMS is still on scene performing damping down operations. Fortunately, the SAB building was not affected in this incident.”
