‘The Tramp’, a Charlie Chaplin musical, is coming to the Theatre on the Square in Sandton from 10 to 26 July 2025.
The production is a one-man piece about the life of the greatest comic of the silent film era, and his rise and fall.
Written and directed by Amanda Bothma, it stars Anderson, with piano by Paul Ferreira.
“When we started this journey, there was no way that I could even imagine the depth of Chaplin’s story… that is what is going to be quite unexpected for people coming to the theatre.”
– Daniel Anderson, actor
“He was so funny on screen, but the moment he started opening his mouth… he wasn’t funny at all… He was quite controversial… He didn’t really align with any political ideology, but he was more left than right.”
– Daniel Anderson, actor
