2 more suspects arrested in connection with 2023 murder of DA councillor Nhlalayenza Ndlovu

DURBAN - Two more suspects have been arrested after being linked to the murder of Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor, Nhlalayenza Ndlovu.

Ndlovu was the party’s chief whip in the Umngeni local municipality in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal.

He was shot and killed at his home in Mpophomeni in December 2023 in full view of his family.

The latest arrests bring the number of accused in the matter to four now.

DA KwaZulu-Natal leader, Francois Rodgers: "This matter has been dragging out for some years now and hopefully this will bring some finality to both the family of Nhlalayenza and the party itself."

Rodgers said that the party was hoping to get to the bottom of the brutal murder for the family to have closure.

"And we trust that prosecuting authority now has its ducks in a row so that we can get to some conclusions and there can be accountability and consequences in what was a senseless and brutal murder of a public representatives in front of his wife and small children."
