Cape Town law enforcement officials issued traffic fines worth over R22,500 during Operation Basadi launch

CAPE TOWN - Law enforcement officials have issued traffic fines worth over R22,500 during the launch of Operation Basadi in Cape Town.
The female-led initiative kicked off on Friday in Kraaifontein, with officers conducting crime prevention searches and making several arrests.
A mini community service centre was also set up to assist residents with document certification and short statements.
Police also issued 11 protection orders in domestic violence-related cases.
Spokesperson FC van Wyk said officers distributed over 1,000 pamphlets on gender-based violence.
"The members also conducted several operations, including a roadblock together with law enforcement members in Frans Conradie Boulevard, Kraaifontein, where a total of 1300 vehicles were tested, and 222 vehicles were searched.”
