JOHANNESBURG - The lead investigator in the case involving Sandton businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe has told the Alexandra Magistrates Court that he is active in the illicit drug trade and the murders of the musicians he has been charged with, are linked to this.
Molefe is facing charges for the murders of popular musicians Oupa Sefoka known as DJ Somebody and DJ Vintos whose real name is Hector Buthelezi.
He has brought a formal bail application before the court.
Molefe (61) entered the dock in a leather slumber jacket, with a large fur hoody and sat quietly as his legal representative Advocate Michael Hellens made his case for bail.
It’s been widely speculated that the murders of DJ Somebody and DJ Vintos were linked to the illicit drug trade and on Wednesday, the Alexandra Magistrates Court heard this from the lead investigator.
Sergenat Hlengiwe Mbele’s affidavit was read by State advocate.
Mbele also claims after the deejays were murdered in March and November 2022, Molefe’s co-accused, the alleged hitmen, made large cash deposits into their bank accounts.
HAPPENING NOW: Katiso Molefe, the alleged mastermind behind the murder of DJ Somebody is in the Alexandra magistrate’s court applying for bail.
