She was among the select few journalists to cover the late Nelson Mandela’s funeral.

“We were doing a live broadcast from an Air Force base in Bloemfontein and I had just done a plane jump. I have never felt more on top of the world… and then the news came through… I drove with a black suit in the back of my car for months.”
