Teen boy arrested in connection with fatal shooting in Atlantis

CAPE TOWN - A 14-year-old boy was arrested in connection with Wednesday's shooting in Atlantis.  

Police said initial reports suggested that a 31-year-old man was fatally shot and a four-year-old girl was injured in the incident.

The little girl was transported to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, where she’s currently in a stable condition.

Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie: "The 14-year-old suspect appeared in the Atlantis Magistrate's Court, where bail was successfully opposed and denied. He remains in custody until his next court appearance."
