Suspected cop killer fatally shot by KZN SAPS

DURBAN - Police in KwaZulu-Natal have shot and killed a suspected cop killer in the KwaNgcolosi area of Durban on Wednesday.

Officers are now concluding investigations at the crime scene.

It’s believed he was wanted for several murders including that of a police officer.

Police said the deceased was wanted for a total of seven murders.

He is alleged to have killed a police officer, constable Mnqobi Shange, who was shot and killed back in 2023.

Officers say they moved in this morning to make an arrest, but a shootout ensued, and the suspect was killed.

Two firearms were recovered from the scene; one was licensed, and the other was declared illegal.

The family of the accused is on the scene and are yet to comment on what took place.
