Lusikisiki massacre: State witness says Ndamase called him to fetch gunmen

The key State witness in the Lusikisiki massacre has told the court that the accused number one called him and told him to fetch the gunmen who carried out the hit.
State witness, Lwando Abi, is being cross-examined by accused number one, Mzukisi Ndamase, in the mass murder trial.
Late last year, he was one of those arrested in connection with the murders of 18 people shot and killed in Ngobozana Village.
The trial is currently underway in the Mthatha High Court in Lusikisiki.
During cross-examination in court, it was revealed that the State witness, Lwando Abi, had shared some details of the Lusikisiki massacre with his wife.
He told the court that he made his wife aware that Ndamase had called him to pick up the gunmen.

Previously, Abi told the court that the gunmen he transported were fourof the accused - Aphiwe Ndende, Siphosoxolo Mayekethe, Bonga Hintsa and Zenande Paya.
The court also learnt that the group used traditional medicine in their meat, which they ate and also bathed with it, before proceeding to Ngobozana.
Trial proceedings are underway.
