Excitement is building in Cape Town’s city centre as the final leg of the World Test Championship Mace trophy tour gets underway.

Temba Bavuma and the Proteas team have been touring the country, showing off the coveted trophy after their historic ICC World Test Championship victory.

On Friday, Capetonians have the chance to see their heroes and the shiny piece of silverware. Fans are beginning to gather outside City Hall and many are expected to line the streets and corners throughout the CBD.

The Proteas will make their way through the City Centre on an open-top bus.

 According to reports, the team first held a Fan Meet & Greet at the Grand Parade before the bus parade, which is scheduled to run from 13:00 to 14:45.

Fans at the parade said they are looking forward to seeing their cricketing heroes and the Mace up close. The tour started at the Grand Parade and is expected to make about 13 stops before taking the team back to their hotel.
