The Palestine Solidarity Campaign states that Palestinians in war-ravaged Gaza share a plight with jobless South Africans.

PSC organiser Usuf Chikte says the struggles of the Palestinian people are intertwined with the people of South Africa.

"We had a saying in South Africa: 'Our land, our labour and our liberty. The Palestinians are deprived of all that, and to some extent, we are also deprived," Chikte stated. "

Chikte invoked the labour slogan, emphasising that an injury to one is an injury to all.

"Return the land to the Palestinians, return the land to the South Africans. Return the productive sources to the people, to the workers," he demanded.

The march concluded with COSATU handing memorandums to the provincial and national governments, along with the City of Cape Town.
