Hip-hop music festival Back to the City returns to Johannesburg on 11 October with a stellar lineup at Mary FitzGerald Square.
US rapper Lupe Fiasco is set to headline, alongside the likes of Cassper Nyovest, A-Reece, Big Zulu Blxckie, Kwesta, Emtee, and many more artists, DJs, and graffiti artists.
In its 19th year, creative director Rashid Kay says it is an honour to have the Grammy award-winning Fiasco on the lineup.
“He dedicated his life to hip-hop, now a lecturer at a university that teaches rap.”
Under the theme Power in Numbers, the event will also feature skate parks, MC battles, basketball games, food stalls, 150 clothing stalls, and various activations.
“We are the only hip-hop movement left, so we need all the support that we can get from every element… the power is in numbers,” he says.
Tickets are available on Webtickets.
