MTV is reportedly shutting down five of its music channels in the UK after 40 years on the airwaves.
The television channel will stop broadcasting on its MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV, and MTV Live channels from 31 December 2025.
Its flagship channel, MTV HD, will remain on air alongside its America MTV channels.
This is four decades after the station first began airing music videos 24/7.
"I just think it’s really sad that MTV, which is traditionally known as a channel for music videos and for artists to really get out there, won’t be happening anymore," says radio host, Zweli Mbhele.
