Chess grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky (29) dies

American chess grandmaster and former world youth champion, Daniel Naroditsky, has passed away at the age of 29. 

"It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Daniel Naroditsky," a family statement read. 

"Daniel was a talented chess player, commentator and educator, and a cherished member of the chess community, admired and respected by fans and players around the world."

The cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

In a tribute, American world number two Hikaru Nakamura said: "This is a massive loss for the world of chess."
