A heatwave is expected to hit parts of the Western Cape over the next few days.
Temperatures in the low to high 30s are expected over Cape Town, the West Coast, and the Cape Winelands.
Cape Town Disaster Risk management spokesperson, Sonica Lategan, is urging residents to stay hydrated, stay out of direct sunlight, and wear light clothing.
"Increased temperatures also raise the risk of veld fires. Please be very careful around open flames and remember to report any sign of fire or any other emergency to the city's public emergency communication centre at 021 480 7700."
