Six Springbok players have been included in World Rugby’s 2025 Dream Team, which recognises the most exceptional players on the international stage.

Hooker Malcolm Marx, who was crowned the World Player of the Year after the 24-13 win over Ireland last weekend, has been named in a complete Springbok front row along with fellow nominee Ox Nche, as well as Thomas du Toit. Industrious flank Pieter-Steph du Toit was also included amongst the forwards.

The backline consists of 2 Boks in the form of wing Cheslin Kolbe and mercurial flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who had a sterling season and arguably the most memorable individual performance of the year where he scored 37 points in a 67-30 victory against Argentina in Durban.

Marx, Nché, Pieter-Steph du Toit and Kolbe were also in the 2024 team.

SA Rugby President Mark Alexander applauded all six players, who were instrumental in a successful year for the world champions, who have won 11 out of 13 Test matches so far in 2025, with one fixture still left to play against Wales this weekend.

“I’d like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Malcolm, Pieter-Steph, Ox, Thomas, Sacha and Cheslin on behalf of SA Rugby and the entire country for being named in the Dream Team. They have all played exceptionally well this season and deserve this honour.

“Being named in this team is a massive achievement, especially since it consists of the best players throughout the world. To see six Springboks included is a testament to the quality of players we have in South Africa,” Alexander said

Apart from the 6 South Africans, the composite is made up of 2 New Zealanders, two Englishmen, two Australians and one player each from Scotland, Australia and Ireland.
