The Gauteng provincial government said the arrest of two people in connection with the murder of media personality DJ Warras sends a clear message that vicious criminality will not go unpunished.
Two suspects were taken into custody on Monday and charged with murder.

They were initially apprehended at a hostel in Soweto and questioned about their alleged involvement before being formally processed.
Forty-year-old Warrick Stock was shot and killed outside the Carlton Centre in Johannesburg last week.
At the time, he was allegedly enforcing a court-ordered eviction at a hijacked building.
Gauteng provincial government spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga said that the arrests are welcome.
“We welcome the news that the suspects involved in the killing of DJ Warras have been apprehended. We thank the police for their commitment, focus and hard work in tracking and tracing the suspects alleged to have been involved in the killing of DJ Warras.”
He added that the tragedy has prompted the provincial government and municipal authorities to fast-track ongoing efforts to dismantle syndicates linked to hijacked buildings.
“We continue to appeal to members of the public to provide additional information to the investigating team so that they are able to put together a strong case, secure a conviction, and ensure that those found guilty are sent to jail for a very long time.”
