Police are appealing to the community of Thokoza, in Ekurhuleni, to come forward with any information that may help identify suspects involved in a cash-in-transit robbery.
Authorities said that the incident occurred on Saturday, when the suspects arrived in four vehicles, including a white Mercedes Benz that rammed into the cash-in-transit vehicle, causing it to overturn.
The suspects reportedly disarmed the security officers and bombed the armoured vehicle.
Gauteng SAPS Spokesperson Mavela Masondo said that once opened, they made off with an undisclosed amount of cash while firing at the escort vehicle.
"The suspects then escaped and drove off in four different vehicles, during the incident a 13-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet, and she was taken to the nearest hospital. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects who are still at large."
