Mkhwanazi conducted law enforcement visibility operations at the Durban beach front promenade earlier on Thursday.
"We are also disturbed by the fact that we tend to arrest some of our own on different types of crimes ranging from drunk and driving to robberies, just yesterday police officers were arrested after they went into a shop to go and rob and kidnap someone," said Mkhwanazi.
He said are taking serious actions against such.
"They were found in possession with the same firearm that we issue them, so we are taking action against such," said Mkhwanazi.
