KZN social development calls for swift action in Cele family murder case

The Social Development Department in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) has vowed to ensure that justice is served for a family that lost four loved ones during a brutal attack on New Year's Day.

Four members of the Cele family, a mother and her three children, were shot and killed during a suspected home invasion.

It's understood. Suspected robbers opened fire at the family home while demanding money from them.

Social development MEC Mbali Shinga visited the grieving family on Monday.

“It is not easy for the family at this time as we expected, but we have offered support, and going forward we will be with the family.” Shinga said.

She has also assured the family that justice will be served as police investigations continue.

“At this difficult moment they must really calm down and have trust in our justice system that the relevant departments are working on the case, and they will eventually find closure on the matter.” She added.
