Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for a number of unidentified suspects responsible for the murder of five people in Jeffsville, near Pretoria.
Police claim the victims, who were standing outside a tuck shop, were approached by a number of unknown assailants who began shooting at them.
Police investigations are focusing on establishing a motive.
According to police, the motive for the killing of five people in the informal settlement of Jeffsville, near Atteridgeville is yet to be determined.
Preliminary reports suggest the murders were premeditated.
"Five people were shot outside a tuck shop at block by unknown assailants. The victims were declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
It's reported that unknown number suspects approached the victims who were standing outside the tuck shop and shot at them without saying anything. The suspects then fled the scene," said Gauteng police.
A case of five counts of murder will be registered as investigations continue.
