The African National Congress (ANC) on Sunday concluded its two-day national Lekgotla in Boksburg, on the East Rand.
As the party tightened monitoring of its public representatives, it said the removal of poorly performing deployees would be based on evidence and not factionalism.
Delegates at the Lekgotla drew up a plan of action to fix a number of government issues, accompanied by clear timelines for when they should be achieved.

While this plan of action is yet to be made public, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa said the targets were non-negotiable.
"We must have the courage to replace deployees who are not performing the tasks they are given. We must also deploy cadres that can fulfil the responsibility of [the] position they occupy," said Ramaphosa. "We will implement mechanisms for monitoring, evaluation and accountability so that our decisions in this regard are based on evidence and not driven by factional or personal interests."
