The African National Congress (ANC) in Johannesburg said that its members who believe the party’s recent elective conference was rigged must raise their concerns through the appropriate channels.
Former regional leader Dada Morero has written to the party’s provincial leadership, alleging irregularities during the conference.
The December conference saw Morero lose his position as regional chairperson to Loyiso Masuku.
But in a media briefing on Monday night the ANC’s new Johannesburg leadership dismissed claims the conference process was flawed.
During the ANC's regional conference allegations emerged that money was used to influence voting in a contest that saw Morero lose to Masuku.
Further concerns were raised after ballot papers used at the conference were found at a house in Pretoria over the weekend.
ANC regional secretary Sasabona Manganye said that members who feel aggrieved must be given an opportunity to raise their concerns through the appropriate channels.
"They followed the correct processes of going to the party’s structures to ask them to hear them out. I don’t think they are bitter, they are following ANC process."
Manganye however denies that the conference was rigged, and claims that no money was used to influence voting.
