The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has postponed its public hearings until Tuesday.

This follows a lengthy debate around the readiness of the next witness, who was expected to testify on Friday.

A member attached to organised crime in Gauteng, was due to begin his testimony today.

Nkosi, who allegedly reported to suspended deputy national police commissioner, Shadrack Sibiya, was previously accused of collecting a large sum of cash for Sibiya from criminally accused tender don, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and Katiso “KT” Molefe.

Nkosi’s attorney, Hartley Ngoato, requested a postponement, indicating they were not ready as there were still at least a thousand pages of evidence they needed to peruse.

Madlanga commission chair, Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, granted the request.

"The matter is postponed to Tuesday next week. The main reason for that is that we, to an extent, do understand the plea that time is required to go through the documentation."
