The man believed to be the one who shot and killed Warrick Stock, commonly known as DJ Warras, will make his first appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

The 25-year-old was arrested at an informal settlement in Primrose, on the East Rand, on Friday night.

The man has been on the run for just over a month following Stock’s murder on 16 December.

Members of Gauteng's Serious and Violent Crimes Provincial Investigations Unit arrested the man who allegedly shot and killed Stock.

“The arrest happened around 20:00 on 30 January 2026 in Marathon informal settlement, in Primrose. The suspect will face charges of murder and contravention of the Immigration Act,” said police spokesperson Brenda Muridili.

He will appear in the Johannesburg Masgitrates Court and is expected to join Victor Majola, the man accused of orchestrating Stock’s murder, in the days to come.

Majola, a Soweto taxi boss, was arrested six days after Stock was killed and was denied bail in January.
