Cross examination of the State’s cellphone analyst will continue when the Phala Phala burglary trial resumes on Monday.

Imanuwela David, along with siblings Froliana and Ndilinasho Joseph, are charged with breaking and entering into President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm in February 2022 and stealing US$580,000 in cash.

Their trial resumes at the Modimolle Regional Court in Limpopo.

The cellphone analyst cannot be named due to a standing order in this trial to not reveal the identities of witnesses.

In his testimony, the analyst has managed to track the movements of the three accused before, during and after the break-in at the Phala Phala farm.

Using network data and Google mapping, the analyst’s evidence places the three accused near the vicinity of the farm during the break-in.

At the last court appearance, lawyers for accused number one, David, grilled the analyst on the credibility of the data he presented to the court.

On Monday, it’s the opportunity for the lawyers representing the two other accused siblings to cross examine the analyst’s evidence.
