The engagement forms part of an integrated crime and violence prevention strategy, with a specific focus on gangsterism, murder and gender-based violence in the Western Cape.
Mothibi was appointed just more than a month ago.
On Tuesday, he told Athlone residents at a JCPS cluster imbizo that crime and corruption require attention.
