The civil movement "March and March" has urged ActionSA's mayoral candidate for Johannesburg to put South Africans first.
The movement, which is largely focused in Durban, is famous for its protests against illegal immigration, with the most recent demonstrations taking place at schools.

March and March founder Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma says Johannesburg, like many big cities across the country, has a major problem of illegal immigrants.
“Today I stand here as a desperate patriot asking to join this wonderful celebration of a leader that I believe can bring Johannesburg back to its former glory, and I know for a fact that this leader will, in essence, put South Africans first, not just with words but with actions.”
