A teen victim wounded in a fatal school shooting, in Atlantis, has been discharged from hospital.

Police are investigating a gun attack that happened at a secondary school in Avondale on Wednesday.

A 42-year-old taxi driver and 14-year-old girl were killed in the incident.

Atlantis community policing forum (CPF)'s Noel Cloete said the motive of the fatal attack at a local school forms part of the police investigation.

"What we can confirm is this incident is taxi violence. The people are afraid to get into taxis especially school children, because as I say the community is in fear because they don't know when something like this can happen."

The body of the teenager was found on school grounds.

Police said she was shot multiple times while attempting to run from the gun fire.

The driver of the scholar transport vehicle was also attacked.

"Most of the residents were angry because an innocent child also got killed that the police had to step in and try and calm the people."

Moreover, two teenagers were wounded in the shooting. The other in a stable condition in hospital.
