The term of the Acting Executive Director of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate, Dr Hlengani Bila, has been extended.
Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia said Bila will remain in the position until a permanent appointment is made.
Bila has been acting in this capacity since August last year, following the departure of former Executive Director Jennifer Ntlatseng.
Police Ministry spokesperson Kamogelo Mogotsi said the process to appoint a new executive director is underway.
"This extension, which is also supported by the Portfolio Committee on Police, is intended to ensure continued stability and effective leadership within the Directorate."
