The South African Council of Churches (SACC) has condemned the unprovoked military action across the Middle East.
In a statement, the SACC called on both Israel and the United States (US) to show moral courage and restraint.
The conflict has reportedly resulted in 101 casualties, and the deaths of 85 civilians and 11 military personnel.

The SACC has extended its condolences and expressed solidarity with communities in the Middle East.
On Saturday, joint military action killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In its latest statement, the SACC is calling for an immediate halt to all aggression and hostility.
The SACC has also called for accountability, fairness, and respect for human dignity, and is appealing to people of goodwill to engage in urgent prayer for the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure.
