Court orders Musa Khawula to retract claims about Malema and his wife

The Gauteng High Court has ordered controversial entertainment blogger, Musa Khawula, to apologise to Julius Malema for making false and defamatory comments about the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader.
In February, Khawula falsely claimed on a post on X that Malema's wife, Mantoa, had filed for divorce.
In a judgment handed down on Tuesday, Khawula’s comments have been declared unlawful and defamatory.
Malema joins a long list of high-profile figures to successfully sue Khawula for defamatory comments.

This list includes ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, businessman Ze Nxumalo and his wife, former Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green, and photographer Dumani Khuzwayo.
The judgment shows Khawula’s false claims about Malema's marriage was picked up and reshared by at least 18 different media publications or blogs.
Khawula has been ordered to remove the comments from his X account and issue an apology within 24 hours of the judgment.
In a separate matter, Khawula currently has an arrest warrant out for his arrest after he failed to appear in court for his 2022 murder case, where he stands accused of killing his former boyfriend, Wandile Khambule.
