Case against Wynberg Magistrates Court shooter postponed

Earlier this month, two gunmen walked into the Wynberg Magistrates Court building and allegedly shot the victim to death.

CAPE TOWN - The court case of a man linked to a shooting at the Wynberg Magistrates Court has been rolled over to Wednesday.

Twenty-year-old Abubaker Adams is accused of being involved in the murder of a 50-year-old taxi operator from Vrygrond who was also facing murder charges two weeks ago.

The man was shot and killed inside the court building by two gunmen.

Earlier this month, two gunmen walked into the Wynberg Magistrates Court building and allegedly shot the victim to death.

The assailants fled the building undetected by police.

The alleged mastermind, Shireen Mathews, was arrested shortly after the shooting.

Her co-accused, Adams, was nabbed over the weekend, and the prosecution says it has witnesses and video evidence proving that Adams was one of the shooters.

His alleged accomplice is still at large.
