The city will turn into the Continent's biggest art playground this week as FNB Art Joburg returns to the Sandton Convention Centre from 5 to 7 September.
Marking its 18th year, the event brings together bold artwork, fresh ideas and some of Africa’s most exciting creatives.
“When we started this… There were 55 art fairs in the world, and there are now 255… we were the first on African soil to champion.”
– Mandla Sibeko, Managing Director – FNB Art Joburg
This year’s jam-packed lineup includes talent from 14 African nations across seven sections.
Also on this year’s programme is the 2025 FNB Art Prize, Thato Toeba.
“I know a lot of focus, when it comes to Africa, tends to go towards politics, but there is so much culture that is taking place.”
– Mandla Sibeko, Managing Director – FNB Art Joburg
“It really is more than just the buying of art, it's about education… a source of inspiration and just to pause and imagine yourself as an individual walking through the fair in a time like this where things are so complex.”
– Mandla Sibeko, Managing Director – FNB Art Joburg
