JOHANNESBURG - The of Department Gauteng Health is monitoring operations at the Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg following a massive power outage.
The facility was operating on backup power since Sunday.

City Power said the outage was caused by a burnt feeder board at the Ridge Substation.
Gauteng Health spokesperson MotaleTale Modiba said that normal operations at the hospital had resumed.
"With the power supply being restored, the team is working on ensuring that the facility gradually operates at 100%."
