Manhunt underway after Cape cop shot dead

CAPE TOWN - Investigations are underway in the Western Cape following a shooting in Athlone that left a police official dead.
The 35-year-old woman, who was an administrative clerk at the Kraaifontein police station, was killed by unknown gunmen on Saturday afternoon.
It's understood that the incident took place next to the Gatesville mosque.
Another woman was injured in the process. The 56-year-old is currently receiving medical treatment at a nearby healthcare facility.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie said: “Athlone police subsequently registered a murder and attempted murder case which will be probed by detectives attached to the Anti-Gang Unit. Preliminary information suggests that two armed men accosted the deceased as she and the injured woman alighted the vehicle they were travelling in.”
