South Africa’s Phumelele Cafu will face WBC super flyweight champion Jesse Rodriguez in a historic triple unification bout on 19 July in Texas, USA.

As the current WBO champion, the WBC, WBO and Ring magazine Super Flyweight titles are up for grabs.

The East London boxer won his belt last year following a split decision over Kosei Tanaka, and this will be his first title defence.

Cafu holds a record of 11–0–3 with eight knockouts.

“On 19 July, it is going to be the pride of African boxing... I think people need to understand the magnitude of this event… this is massive.”
