Sustainable infrastructure development symposium South Africa- Building resilient communities

The President of South Africa, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, is convening an important event that will include government ministers, major asset owners, leading private investors and fund managers, multilateral development banks (MDBs), developers, technology innovators, key advisors, and more.

The primary goal of this event is to align efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and South Africa’s National Development Plan (NDP), ensuring access to more economical and sustainable funding sources. Additionally, the event aims to spotlight the digital sectors, agriculture, and housing, which align with ten of the infrastructure priorities outlined in the SDGs.

The development aspect of the Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium South Africa (SIDSSA) focuses on a public sector-led stimulus that aims to drive GDP growth and job creation.

This event will emphasize active participation from a select group of individuals and institutions working collaboratively to advance the projects presented in the SIDSSA. The concept is to unite state-owned entities, multilateral development banks (MDBs), development finance institutions (DFIs), the private sector, and academia in this inaugural African consultation session.
