On Sunday, 10 March 2024, cyclists will embark on the biggest timed bike race in the world as they tackle the 46th Cape Town Cycle Tour (CTCT).
The race, which circles the Cape Peninsula, starting and finishing in the shadow of Table Mountain, has been met with some hesitation due to the increased registration costs.
From 15 January until 31 January 2024, general entries will increase from R850 to R950, charity entries will increase from R850 to R950 and PPA entries will increase from R795 to R895.
The reason for the increase is due to the closure of 109 kilometres of one of South Africa's largest cities, which comes with a hefty price tag, says Bellairs.
Additionally, the event helps raise money for charities in need, he adds.
