FlySafair has reassured passengers that flights will continue as scheduled, as negotiations with the South Africa Cabin Crew Association (SACCA) continue.
SACCA, which represents 65% of the airline's 800 cabin crew members, is still reviewing the airline's latest offer, which includes a 5.7% salary increase and monthly allowances.
Wage talks reached a deadlock last week.
FlySafair's Kirby Gordon explained: "Unfortunately, negotiations are still ongoing....the parties didn't finalise a settlement yesterday [Monday].
“They did have some very constructive engagements but unfortunately, they didn't manage to sign anything."
Gordon added that negotiations and conversations will continue.
"Unfortunately, the deadline for the employer-initiated work stoppage has now passed. So, that commenced as of midnight, last night, but I think that what's really important to emphasise is that our full roster is fully protected with all scheduled flights covered by non-unionised crew members and, of course, by unionised crew members that have already accepted the company's offer.
“So, we expect absolutely no disruption to flights this morning [Tuesday]. Crew have already arrived for morning departures and things are looking good."
