2 February 2024 | 10:07The Cape Town funnyman spotted the multi award winning actress dining out in Cape Town this week.
He's one of South Africa's most famous faces and yet much-loved comedian Marc Lottering revealed he's just another fan when he came across Hollywood A-lister Viola Davis dining out in Cape Town this week.
Lottering was out and about in the city when he spotted the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award winner) grabbing a bite to eat.
But overcome by an attack of the nerves, the funnyman kept on walking, rather than approaching the megastar.
However, the Aunty Merle creator wasted no time in taking to social media to share his shyness with his fans, writing:
I just walked past a restaurant and saw Viola Davis having lunch. I was shaking but kept on walking because she was eating. And now I'll spend the rest of the year wondering if she would have said yes to a pic and whether I missed my one shot at Hollywood.'
Davis, who is believed to be in the country to shoot a film, is no stranger to the Mother City.
Last year, the actress celebrated her 58th birthday here, posting to Instagram against a backdrop of the Atlantic and signing off with 'Enkosi!!!!"
It's believed Davis and her husband are regular visitors to Mzansi and of course, many of the scenes from Davis' hit movie The Woman King were filmed here.
