JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa said government would pull out all the stops to help boost the mining sector amid a range headwinds.

Ramaphosa delivered the headline address at the annual Mining Indaba in Cape Town on Monday.

He admitted that the chronic power cuts and bottlenecks in the logistics sector have put a damper on mining output.

Volatile commodity prices and geopolitical tensions have also added pressure on the sector.

Ramaphosa told hundreds of delegates at the Cape Town Convention Centre that work was being done to increase ease of doing business.

“Being aware of this, we are committed to work on these together to overcome these serious challenges and a number of initiatives.”
