Eskom eases load shedding to stage 1 as generation capacity increases
The power utility said it has reduced its rolling power cuts from stage 2 to stage 1 on Wednesday morning, until 2 pm.
JOHANNESBURG - Eskom said that load shedding would be eased on Wednesday thanks to the return to service of two generating units and an increase in generation capacity.
The power utility said it had reduced its rolling power cuts from stage 2 to stage 1 on Wednesday morning, until 2pm.
The utility’s Daphne Mokoena said Eskom would continue to monitor the power grid and provide an update should anything change.
“Due to sufficient emergency reserve, and a slight increase in available generating capacity resulting from a return to service of two units, load shedding will be reduced to stage 1 from 10am to 2pm today [Wednesday]. Thereafter, stage 2 load shedding will be implemented until further notice.”
