JOHANNESBURG - Police top brass in Limpopo have ordered an immediate investigation into a deadly crash that claimed seven lives, including that of a suspect and a police officer.
It's understood that a sedan and a police van collided head-on near Tobias on the R101 on Sunday.
Five people in the sedan and two passengers from the police vehicle died on the scene.
At the same time, Transport MEC Florence Radzilani urged motorists to drive carefully on the roads.
"MEC Radzilani has sent messages of condolences to the bereaved families and wished the driver a speedy recovery," said her department's spokesperson, Mafenya Lediga.
"She has also appealed to road users to take extra precautions during their trips in order to reduce road fatalities."
